The end of the Beginning

Black Knight.png

As a multi-faceted creative, I bring something special to my art form that many others don’t. By adding the Akai MPC One and AI software to my production process, I’m able to create a unique images and sounds that are both modern and timeless.

My music has been composed, recorded and arranged by me in the Virgin Islands and I’m proud to share it with the world. My passion to create art that speaks to the soul drives me forward and I'm excited to see what the future holds.

Nano Tech Black addresses my personal hardships we all go through in life with self growth, relationships, and being in a community.  A fade to black without the retirement. As always, it's up to the listener to do the song breakdowns.

I use the trials and tribulations of my life to inform my art.  On the previous project, I predicted my break up down to the smallest detail. After releasing Nano Tech Noir, I spent the summer promoting and performing, then began working on Nano Tech Black in November of 2022. I wanted to break down the issues with myself, my community, and myself in my community.  I have had to get used to having a very small circle because people really think they know me from a few interactions.  Nano Tech Black is me fading away from the hive mind.  Joining the ranks of people who think along the same lines as my own.  I'm not a street nigga, but I got years of experience handling myself in the streets.  There, I realized my skills can be applied to the digital space.

Nano Tech Black is for the Hip-Hop head.  This is the second time I featured another producer on a project.  I've been holding on to these beats since 2021 when I went to New York to let him listen to Nano Tech Noir.  I chose these beats to get back to the origins of my sound.  I love big drums.  Even on Lo-fi tracks, I need the drums to knock.

I made about 35 full tracks for this project.  A Total of 123 instrumentals.  But one of the things I'm willing to sacrifice is the length of my projects because I don't want to scare away listeners. People already avoid the truth.

-This is not your regular everyday average ordinary space odyssey!

Accountability

I must take accountability for my own actions

Communication

I must communicate effectively to get the outcome i want.

Self Awareness

I will be aware of how my self confidence triggers the insecurities of others.

Empathy

I will chose empathy over rage.

Nano Tech Black features production from CHILLON Daviz, and a guest performance from Rass Attitude.  The intro, Black Pudding, is performed by Charles Way and produced by CHILLON Daviz.  I produced the remainder of the project.  The samples come from old vinyl I found in thrift stores on St. Croix.

This is the first project where I recorded my vocals with a Baby Blue Bottle SL.  It really saves me time mixing since its so warm. My latest vocal plugin chain consists of a De-esser, Api-2500 compressor, stock eQ, SSL comp, Stereo Delay, UA 1176, C4 Compressor, followed by a Stereo spreader.  I used shak-shaks that fall from the flamboyant trees here in St. Croix as my shakers, Latin Percussion Tamborine, Latin percussion jam blocks and some congas from Amazon. Drums get an SSL compressor and the Red Analog Sim.  I really Love the analog sound.  Of course I used the East West Composer Cloud or the backing instruments.

A Journey Through Time

Once upon a time, in a picturesque town embraced by verdant meadows, lived a young woman named Lily. Lily was a spirited soul, always yearning for adventure and seeking the magic that lay beyond the ordinary. One fateful day, she stumbled upon a hidden treasure tucked away in the attic—an ancient locket that held the key to time travel.

Curiosity twinkling in her eyes, Lily delicately opened the locket and discovered its extraordinary powers. With a courageous heart, she activated the enchanting device and embarked on a journey through time. The locket hummed and shimmered, whisking Lily away to a bustling city of towering marvels—a future brimming with endless possibilities.

As Lily wandered through the futuristic metropolis, she was awestruck by the technological marvels and the incredible abundance surrounding her. Everything she had ever dreamed of seemed readily available, but beneath the surface, she sensed a longing and restlessness that haunted the city's inhabitants. The pursuit of material possessions had overshadowed the pursuit of true happiness.

Determined to seek wisdom from the past, Lily set the locket's dial to a bygone era and was instantly transported to a simpler time. Here, she encountered artisans, poets, and humble villagers who embraced the beauty of each passing moment. They found joy in the little things—a warm breeze, the laughter of loved ones, and the touch of nature's wonders.

Inspired by the wisdom of the past, Lily embarked on a final adventure, setting the locket's dial far into the distant future. The locket hummed with anticipation, and she arrived in a world ravaged by time's passage. Amidst the remnants of civilization, she discovered a group of resilient survivors, united by their compassion and unwavering hope. They had learned that true happiness resided in human connection and finding strength in each other's presence.

Returning to her own time, Lily realized that she had everything she needed to create a fulfilling life. The power to dream, the thirst for knowledge, and the capacity for love were within her grasp. Instead of constantly chasing after what lay ahead or longing for what had already passed, she discovered the importance of living in the present moment.

With newfound wisdom, Lily pledged to savor every precious moment. She understood that true happiness could be found in cherishing the journey rather than obsessing over the destination. And as she embarked on new adventures, she carried the lessons from her extraordinary travels—reminding herself and others that life's most valuable treasures often lay hidden in the simplest joys.

From that day forward, Lily embraced her role as the curator of her own destiny, embracing the magic of the present while weaving dreams for the future. And in her heart, she held the belief that patience and gratitude would guide her to a life filled with adventure, love, and the fulfillment of her deepest desires.
